Assembly Line for GEA Separators
The GEA Westfalia Separator Group has launched a one-piece-flow assembly line at its headquarters in Oelde, Germany. The facility is based on RoundTrack technology from STROTHMANN Machines Handling. Separators are placed on carts for final assembly. Thus, they can be easily moved from station to station. The RoundTrack rails are manufactured from hardened, polished steel. The accompanying cart wheels are machined from ball bearing steel and feature minimal contact with the rails. The system thereby achieves excellent running characteristics and resistance to wear. "We demand efficiency and top quality from our products as well as from our facilities," says Herbert Kleigrewe, test field team leader at GEA Westfalia Separator Group, Oelde. "RoundTracks from STROTHMANN have enabled a resource-friendly line layout."
