Asia Netcom's Call Aggregation Service Wins IEC InfoVision Award at Broadband World Forum Asia 2007

Asia Netcom's Call Aggregation Service Recognized for Applications Which
Empower Next Generation Call Centers

BEIJING, June 6 / / - Asia Netcom again proves its leadership in bringing next generation applications to market at the Broadband World Forum Asia 2007. During the InfoVision awards ceremony today in Beijing, the company's Call Aggregation Service (CAS) was recognized by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) with an award in the Network Core Innovation and Advances category. This award for CAS follows an InfoVision Award in the same category last year given to Asia Netcom's M-Flex IP VPN service.

"We are truly honored to be selected for this prestigious award two years in a row," said Bill Barney, Asia Netcom's Chief Executive Officer. "Asia Netcom continually looks for ways to develop innovative, flexible and user-friendly products that deliver superior customer experiences. This award is a true testament to our Product Management team's leadership and innovation, which continues to drive business efficiencies for our customers."

IEC Vice President of Conference Development Tom Costello commented, "The IEC's InfoVision Awards program gives tribute to the paramount broadband innovations in deployment today in the Asia-Pacific region. We are pleased to recognize Asia Netcom as an InfoVision Award winner for its Call Aggregation Service, which we appreciate as a significant contribution to the industry."

The IEC Awards submissions were judged by a panel of industry experts based on the following criteria:

1. Value of service or technology in solving recognized technology
problems, meeting network requirements, optimizing service and
performance, and/or enhancing customer service
2. Overall quality of innovation and contribution to technology
advancement
3. Originality and vision
4. Potential contribution toward positive industry growth and service
5. Market success/acceptance (where applicable)
6. Contribution to end-user quality of experience and service efficiency

Launched in February 2007, CAS leverages Asia Netcom's global MPLS (multi protocol label switching) infrastructure to aggregate voice minutes from multiple markets and deliver them into a centralized location. Multinational corporations can deploy CAS's one-stop solution to offer local call-in numbers for their customers to access their call center - without the need to set up their own infrastructure in each location.

"In today's competitive global business environment, CAS is the differentiator for corporations focused on value-added customer service," said Mark Simpson, Chief Operating Officer, Asia Netcom. "CAS enables the convenience of local number access across multiple markets while at the same time taking advantage of a centralized call center solution."

"The CAS solution will also give third-party call center operators an enhanced service feature while serving their corporate customers. In particular, its flexible and robust routing and overflow support are invaluable during peak times and emergency situations," Simpson added.

By leveraging Asia Netcom's global MPLS platform as the main backbone, CAS offers users several distinct advantages. Because Asia Netcom has already established infrastructure in the local market, customers will not have to invest in new equipment and resources. Once a voice call is received in the local market, the traffic is transported to the destination over Asia Netcom's MPLS backbone, which offers pre-defined service performance levels to ensure the highest voice quality.
