Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) announces that Connie Howe is joining the Council as Senior Manager, Technical Services.  Howe will oversee all of ASC's technically oriented programming including short courses, Training Academy, Advanced Technology Link, and serve as the staff liaison to the Technical Committee.  She will play a leading role in developing ASC's focus on sustainability, environmental product declarations, and other environmental, health and safety oriented programming.

"Connie will hold the first technical services position at ASC as the Council responds to the increasing need for technical data, science oriented programming and dynamic collaborations to move the industry forward," notes Matthew E. Howe joins ASC after a broad series of corporate positions with Avery Dennison, Omni Tech International, Reichhold Chemicals, Corning Incorporated and Lord Corporation.  She has held several technically oriented positions including polymer chemist, senior applications chemist, materials and process engineer, R&D engineer and commercialization manager.

She has experience with a variety of adhesive technologies including PSA, polyurethane hot melts, liquid and waterborne adhesives, epoxies and alternative

bio-based (soy) chemistries.

"I am very excited to transitioning from industry and as an ASC member participant, to staff, and look forward to working with members to bring a stronger technical focus to all of ASC's programs," said Connie Howe, Senior Manager, Technical Services at ASC.  "My goal is to work collaboratively with our technical community and incorporate new ideas and new thinking to current programs, and assess the market in order to determine what new programming can be developed to add value to our industry."

Howe holds a Bachelor's of Science in Polymer Science and Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master's of Science in Textile Chemistry with an emphasis in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University.

"ASC currently produces 5 short courses, 8-session advanced technology link tracks at each Convention, 8+ Academy webinars annually, and has more than 130+ adhesive and sealant test methods developed via ASTM D14 and C24, and Connie will work to build off of this strong technical base and develop new programming centered on trends and challenges facing the industry such as sustainability and EPDs," notes Croson.  "She will work closely with the Technical Committee at ASC to identify new opportunities to add value to being an ASC member, and we are confident this important investment will be a strong value driver for ASC members for years to come."
