ASC Takes Its Award-Winning Website Responsive

Growth in Mobile Device Users Drives Changes to Adhesives.org and Sealants.org

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) has retooled its award-winning website—www.adhesives.org | www.sealants.org–to include responsive web design (RWD).  RWD is a best practice for web design as it is aimed at crafting sites to provide optimal viewing experience across a wide range of devices, including mobile phones and tablets.  RWD provides users with an easier reading and navigation experience while accessing a website on a small screen device, keeping resizing, panning and scrolling to a minimum.

“ASC’s marketing data shows that approximately 40% of its email subscribers and website visitors are actually viewing Council messaging from smart phones and tablets,” notes Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC.  “We’ve seen this number double in size over the past year, and making our email campaigns and websites responsive and mobile friendly gives our users the best possible experience, making it  easier for them to view items, react to information we are sharing, and connect on the engagement platforms found on www.adhesves.org | www.sealants.org.”

ASC has won numerous awards for its www.adhesves.org | www.sealants.org website.  Created in 2008 as an educational platform for the design community, the site has expanded tremendously to increase engagement opportunities via social media including ASC TV (YouTube), Ask an Expert (LinkedIn), and ASC News (Twitter).  With the addition of RWD, the site continues to evolve and keep up with technology as the Council works to communicate the value of adhesives and sealants to the design community.

“ASC wants design engineers to think adhesives and sealants when they are considering innovation, and our website plays a strong role in connecting the dots for architects, engineers and anyone involved in performance materials selection,” adds Croson.  “The retooled website aligns with our email communications effort which went mobile in 2013, and we will focus our efforts on www.ascouncil.org next as we make sure our communications plan align with how members and readers are leveraging the content.”
