ASABE Requests Input on Standard for Landscape Plant Water Demand

ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN— The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is requesting input on the revised draft for a new standard, S623, Landscape Plant Water Demand. Those with interest and expertise in the subject matter are invited to provide input during the public comment period ending June 30, 2015.

As the demand on water resources and the importance of water use efficiency grows, water agencies, regulators, land owners, landscape managers, and others require a standardized process to determine landscape water demands to address local, regional, and national objectives.  This newly revised draft addresses comments from the previous comment period, and aims to help standardize the ways in which plant water demands are quantified for landscape purposes. The draft standard and ASABE comment template can be found at http://www.asabe.org/X623_PC3.
