American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) is recognized worldwide as a standards developing organization for food, agricultural, and biological systems, with more than 250 standards in publication. Asabe Adopts Iso For Three-Point Hitch Coupler

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has adopted an international standard for U-frame-type three-point-hitch couplers on agricultural tractors.

The adopted document is designated ANSI/ASABE AD11001-1:2016 NOV2016, Agricultural wheeled tractors – Three-point hitch couplers – Part 1: U-frame couplers. It replaces ANSI/ASAE S278.7 JUL2003 (ISO 11001-1:1993). A previous version of ASABE S278 served as the original basis of the ISO document.

The adoption further harmonizes national and international standardization, a goal that facilitates manufacturing, safety advancements and product marketing worldwide.

ASABE members with standards access and those with site-license privileges can access the full-text of the standard by electronic download in about two weeks. Location for the download is on the ASABE online Technical Library at: elibrary.asabe.org. Others can obtain a copy for a fee directly from the library or by contacting ASABE headquarters at OrderStandard@asabe.org.
