ASABE Develops Standard for Drawbar Hitch Pin Testing and Design
ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN— The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has completed a project to develop a standard for designing and testing drawbar pins on agricultural equipment.
ANSI/ASABE S625, Drawbar Pin Dimensions and Requirements for Towed Equipment, establishes the dimensional and minimum strength requirements for agricultural drawbar hitch pins used in the single point attaching of a towed machine to towing machines or leading machines.
ASABE members with standards access and those with site-license privileges can access the full-text of the standard by electronic download in about six weeks. Location for the download is on the ASABE online Technical Library at: elibrary.asabe.org. Others can obtain a copy for a fee directly from the library or by contacting ASABE headquarters at schultz@asabe.org.
