ASABE Completes Revision ANSI/ASAE S315.5

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, ASABE, recently announced that it has completed a revision to its agricultural baling standard, ANSI/ASAE S315.5, Agricultural Baling Twine for Automatic Balers. Within the revision is a change in the description for the number of knotters and an increase for the knot strength limit for square balers. The alteration also corrects the formula for calculating the yield of twine.

ASABE Revises Agricultural Baling Twine Standard

ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN— The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has completed revision ANSI/ASAE S315.5, Agricultural Baling Twine for Automatic Balers.

The revision changed the description for the number of knotters and increased the knot strength limit for large square balers. Clarity was added to discard a portion of center-drawn twine before sampling to determine product strength. Also, the formula for calculating the yield of twine was corrected.
