Aruba Networks Ranks First in Innovation in New Report on Voice Over Wi-Fi Ecosystems
Report Highlights Aruba's R&D, Fixed Mobile Convergence Solutions, Handset Interoperability, and Innovative Approach To Identity-Based Management
Sunnyvale, CA, December 18, 2007 - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that it obtained the top ranking in innovation in ABI Research's new report titled "Voice Over Wi-Fi Ecosystems Vendor Matrix." The Vendor Matrix is an analytical tool developed by ABI Research to provide a clear understanding of vendors' positions in specific markets with respect to innovation and implementation, in this case for the voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-Fi) market. The innovation ranking is based on how a technology addresses roaming, call management, endpoint security, VoWi-Fi reporting, intrusion detection and protection, troubleshooting, fixed-mobile convergence schemes, fast handoffs, load balancing, battery life, quality of service, and architecture. The implementation ranking is based on partnerships with resellers and technology providers. Aruba was ranked first in innovation and second overall in a field of twelve suppliers.
"Aruba's best-in-class adaptive wireless LANs and voice solutions resulted from our relentless pursuit of innovative solutions to RF interference, ease-of-use, client interoperability, to name just a few," said Keerti Melkote, Aruba's co-founder and head of products and partnerships. "A comparable effort was made to build a partner ecosystem with companies like Avaya, Polycom, and Vocera so that together we can offer complete end-to-end voice solutions. We are thrilled to have these efforts recognized by ABI Research, especially given that our competitors included some of the largest technology companies in the world."
Aruba's user-centric networks securely deliver the enterprise network to users by integrating adaptive wireless LANs, identity-based security, remote access, and fixed mobile convergence solutions into a cohesive, high-performance system. Adaptive wireless LANs deliver follow-me connectivity to roaming users, support standard Wi-Fi clients -such as Apple Macintosh and Intel Centrino - and deliver toll-quality WPA2 encrypted voice and streaming video. Aruba's identity-based security associates policies with users instead of ports, delivering follow-me security that provides unprecedented mobility for users without compromising security. Remote access and enterprise fixed mobile convergence solutions deliver follow-me applications and toll-quality voice to users wherever they work or roam.

User-centric networks integrate adaptive WLANs, identity-based security, and application continuity services into a cohesive, high-performance system that can be easily deployed as an overlay on top of existing network infrastructure. Adaptive WLANs deliver high-performance, follow-me connectivity so users are always within reach of mission-critical information. Identity-based security associates access policies with users, not ports, to enable follow-me security that is enforced regardless of access method or location. Application continuity services enable follow-me applications that can be seamlessly accessed across WLAN and cellular networks. The cost, convenience, and security benefits of user-centric networks are fundamentally changing how and where we work.
