Tampa, Florida – Arthur Machinery-Florida has been awarded the Kitamura Machinery line of Japanese Machine Tools. Kitamura Machinery of U.S.A. is located at 78 Century Drive, Wheeling, Illinois.
Founded in 1933 in Japan, Kitamura's concentration in the machining center business as well as its unprecedented commitment to Research and Development has led to over 200 patents and patents pending in machining center design. Dr. Akihiro "Aki" Kitamura represents the third generation of his family to serve as president of Kitamura Machinery Co., Ltd. Aki joined the company in 1984 as Chief Engineer, became General Manager of Kitamura Machinery U.S.A. in 1986 and was promoted to President of the U.S.A division in 1989. He also became President of Kitamura Japan in 2003.
Bob Arthur states that Kitamura Machining Centers will be the "Flag Ship" line of Arthur Machinery-Florida and will be featured as such in their latest edition of their 16-page newspaper. The newspaper is mailed to the Florida Puerto Rico markets and features "caricatures" of Arthur personnel.
