Art Technologies Precision Metal Stamping in Hamilton, Ohio has taken a problem part for an automotive stamper in Detroit MI and made it non-problem. ART was approached by this stamping company with a complex conical washer; they were having much difficulty consistently holding print dimension and worse continually breaking tooling. The tooling being broken was in an expensive progressive die….the costs were far higher than the sales!
ART converted this part to a compound die, with large material savings and a secondary coin die. The coin die is run in one of ART Technologies Knuckle Joint Press – perfectly designed to dwell on bottom, allowing for the free flow of material. These dies are automatically fed, so labor cost is kept low.
ART is now running production for this customer – making better parts and at a lower cost. “The parts are Gold”, Quality Manager at this Tier 1 automotive supplier.
