ART Technologies - Coining & Stamping Expertise Combined with Financial Stability Provide the Best in Customer Service

Hamilton, OH, February 10, 2009 -- The slow economy and declining sales are forcing some stamping companies into bankruptcy, leaving a number of of their customers scrambling for parts. ART Technologies of Hamilton, OH, was called on to take over the production of a series of 14 different clutch bearing races when a troubled supplier could not meet their manufacturing commitment.

ART sent key employees to visit the troubled supplier, evaluate the situation, and propose a plan for moving manufacturing of the clutch bearing races to an ART facility.

ART proposed a plan for coining the clutch bearings utilizing one hit compound dies instead of the transfer dies used by the original supplier. Use of compound dies eliminates the costly process of transfer die tooling. It also produces parts with better concentricity than transfer dies because it eliminates the errors caused by material moving during transfer die coining and forming operations. Part final dimensions are excellent, mitigating the need for costly inspection procedures, thereby parts can be produced at better prices.

ART had a plan in place within days, submitted a quote, and were ready to move the work to their facility. Rather than take advantage of a customer stuck without a supplier, ART met the original supplier's contracted piece prices.

"By using compound dies we were able to keeping the tooling costs to an absolute minimum," said George Hammond, Business Development Manager, Precision Components. "Our customer was grateful for the response time, the cost, and the ease of transition to ART Technologies."
