ARRIS Announces Successful Interoperation of Keystone(TM) D5(TM) DMTS(TM) with VOD Leader SeaChange

Operators assured of simple integration of ARRIS Keystone D5 DMTS into present digital video networks and emerging M-CMTS architectures

SUWANEE, Ga., Oct. 30 -- ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS) today announced that its Keystone D5 Digital Multimedia Termination System (DMTS) had completed successful interoperability testing with SeaChange International's VOD System, the world's most widely deployed video-on-demand solution. The interoperability testing of ARRIS D5 DMTS occurred over the course of several months, concluding with the success of a formal test run at SeaChange labs. The D5 DMTS is able to support digital video EdgeQAM delivery today, while providing a software migratory solution to the much anticipated M-CMTS/DOCSIS® 3.0 platform and Switched Digital Video applications.

"The successful interoperability testing with SeaChange completes our initial program of verifying the D5 DMTS MPEG EdgeQAM featureset with leading VOD providers," said Mike Caldwell, Senior Director of Product Management. "This demonstrates the D5's advantage over legacy EdgeQAM products available today, while also providing a simple software upgrade to future M-CMTS platforms envisioned for near-future network architectures."

"SeaChange's VOD customers enjoy an unsurpassed level of operational flexibility that leaves them open to capturing new advantages developed by our partners in the delivery chain, including emerging options like the D5," said Tom Rosenstein, vice president of business development, SeaChange. "This freedom of choice, enabled by open software and adherence to industry standards, is clearly demonstrated in the dramatically diverse VOD deployments our customers have around the world."
