Armstrong Receives Two Prestigious Awards from One of Brazil’s Top HVACR Associations
Toronto, December 3, 2019 – Armstrong Fluid Technology has been honored by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) of Brazil with prestigious industry awards for its key role in two major projects.
SMACNA recognized Armstrong with its New Project of the Year Award for the company’s involvement with the Patteo Shopping Mall in Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil. The company was also one of the recipients of SMACNA’s Retrofit (Energy Upgrade) Project of the Year Award for its contributions to the Hotel Unique retrofit project in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Covete said Armstrong collaborated with other leading HVACR manufacturers on the Patteo Shopping Mall to create an innovative air conditioning and ventilation system that incorporates the most advanced and highly efficient technologies available in the world. Twenty-one Armstrong Design Envelope pumps were key components of the overall HVAC system (see link to the case study).
Armstrong was also part of the team that created an innovative retrofit of the Hotel Unique’s Chilled Water Plant (CAG) that has already resulted in energy savings of 41%. In addition to it’s design and installation expertise, Armstrong supplied seven Design Envelope Vertical In-Line Pumps to the project (see link to the case study).
These two industry awards come on the heels of Armstrong’s Pump Manger being selected as the “Product of the Year” by leading US and UK publications, and selected a Finalists in the 2020 AHR Expo Innovation Awards.
