Architectural Mesh for State of Liberty Welcome Center Provided by Direct Metals


Kennesaw, GA — Direct Metals supplied 3,280 sq. feet of bronze wire architectural mesh to facilitate in building the new Statue of Liberty Welcome Center. The bronze wire mesh was used for the insert panels placed beneath the railings surrounding the exhibits and in the stairways. The restoration project took one year to complete and is now opened to the public.



The pedestal and welcome center of the Statue of Liberty received $27.25 million renovation that included long-planned safety and other critical facility renovations. Improved stairways, and upgraded electrical and fire suppression systems, elevators and rehabilitated restrooms are included in the project.
