April Caucus to Feature Guest Speaker Mary Saunders


The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced that the next monthly ANSI Caucus Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 3, 2009. The meeting will feature guest speaker Mary Saunders of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DoC).
Ms. Saunders, a member of ANSI's Board of Directors and chair of the ANSI International Policy Committee (IPC), has served as deputy assistant secretary for Manufacturing and Services (MAS) in the International Trade Administration (ITA) of the DoC since January 2009. She has worked with the DoC for twenty-three years, serving as chief of the Standards Services Division at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) prior to her current position.

She has extensive interagency and international experience, and close working relationships with a broad cross-section of both government agencies and private sector interests on standards policy, industrial competitiveness and innovation capacity, regulatory issues, implementation of key government-to-government mutual recognition agreements (MRAs), and a range of other issues.

Ms. Saunders holds a master's degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

The Caucus will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the National Press Club (529 14th Street, NW, 13th Floor, Zenger Room) in Washington, DC. RSVPs are requested as soon as possible.
