Applied Resources Corporation Completes US Army Contract Supporting Lightweight Howitzer


Applied Resources Corp. (ARC) is proud to announce the successful completion of United States Army Contract W15QKN-09-C-0138 for various machine parts and assemblies in support of Lightweight 155mm Howitzer. Solicited (W15QKN-09-R-0264) and awarded by the Joint Munitions and Lethality Command Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, the base contract included twelve (12) different contract line item numbers (CLIN's) for a total contract value of $610,205. Upon satisfactory completion of all First Article Test (FAT) requirements and contractual base quantities, ARC was awarded all exercisable option quantities resulting in a final total contract dollar value of $854,675. In all, 4,325 pieces of hardware were manufactured and delivered with zero defects. Comparatively speaking, size and weight characteristics of these items ranged from two (2) inches in height and one-half pound (Bumper Stop Cap) to seven (7) feet in length (Fast Bar) and seventy-five (75) pounds (Trident Bar Assembly). Machined and fabricated materials included aluminum, steel, rubber, and nylon of all shapes and sizes. Assembly on these components was accomplished thru a combination of welding, bonding, and fastening in compliance with military specifications and hardware. Secondary coating and finishing included degreasing, phosphate, anodize, dry film lube, and paint. Final source inspection and acceptance methods ranged from simple dimensional and functional tests to hydrostatic pressure/submersion tests (Gas Charging Unit).
