Mr. Trowbridge was a member of the Board of Trustees at ASME Foundation, and former director of engineering standards at GM Corporation. Moore Award to Mr. Trowbridge for his eminent service and leadership in standardization and his advocacy of international cooperation in the field.

ANSI Remembers Roy P. Trowbridge, Former Chairman of ANSI Board



Roy P. Trowbridge, chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Board from 1971-1974, passed away on January 17, 2016, at age 97. ANSI extends its condolences to his family, friends, and former colleagues in the standardization community.



Mr. Trowbridge was a member of the Board of Trustees at the ASME Foundation, and the former director of engineering standards at General Motors Corporation. In 1969, the Standards Engineering Society, now known as SES - The Society for Standards Professionals, presented the Leo B. Moore Award to Mr. Trowbridge for his eminent service and leadership in standardization and his strong advocacy of international cooperation in the field.



He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan M. and Jon Kukuk of Marinette WI; two granddaughters, Becky (husband, Aric) Chaltry of Marinette and Kristy Gollakner of Marquette, Mich.; and three great-grandchildren.



A memorial service was held on January 30, 2016, at the Harbors Retirement Community in Menominee, where he resided. A celebration of life service is planned for next summer at Nestegg Marine in Marinette.
