Reminder: ANSI to Host Exploratory Meeting for Energy Efficiency Standards Panel

All Stakeholders Invited to Participate in April 25 Meeting

All interested stakeholders are invited to register for an April 25 exploratory meeting hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to examine the need for a potential ANSI Energy Efficiency Standards Panel, and to hear directly from stakeholders what shape such an activity should take.

The purpose of the meeting is to gather input from stakeholders as to areas where an ANSI standards panel would be most beneficial in coordinating a U.S. approach to energy efficiency standardization activities.

Clean Energy Economy

Energy efficiency is integral to building the nation's clean energy economy.

As President Barack Obama pointed out in his State of the Union address outlining his vision for America's clean energy future, "the easiest way to save money is to waste less energy."

"Energy efficiency is a cross-cutting issue that applies to all industry sectors, and I encourage all stakeholders to participate in the April 25 exploratory meeting," said S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "The Institute has a long and successful track record in bringing diverse stakeholders together in a neutral forum to develop consensus-based solutions for national and global priorities. This neutrality is especially key where significant cross-sectoral collaboration is required."

If formed, the anticipated role of the panel would be to determine a road ahead for advancing the nation's energy efficiency agenda.

Registration is free and is open to all interested stakeholders.

To accommodate broad participation, both in-person and webinar registration is available. The meeting will be held at the FHI 360 Conference Center (8th floor, Academy Hall) in Washington, DC. The draft agenda is forthcoming.

Questions about this activity may be directed to Jana Zabinski at jzabinski@ansi.org or 212.642.8901.

Register for the April 25 meeting (in-person attendance).
