People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.



CSA Group, a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced two appointments to their executive team.



Gianluca Arcari has assumed the interim role of vice president and special advisor to the CEO. Mr. Arcari will provide leadership in the organization’s refocusing of their current global testing and certification business. Previously, Mr. Arcari led CSA’s standards division.



Magali Depras has been appointed president of standards. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Depras was CSA’s chief operating officer, where she benefited the organization with her extensive operations experience, strong leadership, and international business knowledge. In her new role, Ms. Depras will guide CSA Group’s standards development and new research initiatives.



“I look forward to working closely with Gianluca and Magali in their new executive roles,” said David Weinstein, president and CEO, CSA Group. “As CSA Group approaches our new fiscal year in April, this structure will undoubtedly help to ensure we are well positioned to continue serving members, clients, and the public good.”



Kerrianne Conn Haresign has joined ANSI member and accredited standards developer the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) as its manager of technology and standards. Ms. Conn will manage the organization’s Portable Handheld and In-Vehicle Electronics Committee and its Health and Fitness Technology Subcommittee that develop standards, including American National Standards (ANS). She will also manage CTA’s bulletins and technical publications about portable and consumer technology, as well as consumer technology used in vehicles, boats, and aircraft.



Prior to assuming this role at CTA, Ms. Conn was with ATIS, an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, where she oversaw the design, implementation, and operations of their knowledge management systems and processes. Ms. Conn was responsible for assuring that ATIS’s forums and committees complied with ATIS requirements and ANSI accreditation requirements, and for guiding ATIS procedures to be carried out efficiently and effectively.



Teresa Ambrosius has been appointed technical coordinator of the Academy Standards Board (ASB) for ANSI member the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). The ASB administers the activities of AAFS as an ANSI-accredited standards development organization. Ms. Ambrosius will guide the ASB in their work, including appointing technical committees for proposed standards.



Previously, Ms. Ambrosius was the marketing council director for SES – The Society for Standards Professionals, an ANSI member. There, she managed volunteer committees; promoted SES programs including conferences, webinars, membership, and publications; and co-marketed events with ANSI, the International Federation of Standards Users (IFAN), and the International Cooperation for Education about Standardization (ICES).
