AMTDA Names New President
Rockville, Maryland - James C. Addy, CMTSE, chairman of the board for the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA) and president of Addy Machinery Company in Detroit, MI, today announced that John J. Healy, CAE will be AMTDA's new president. Healy will join the AMTDA team beginning November 14, 2005. Healy succeeds Ralph Nappi who, after 19 years of service to AMTDA has moved on to become president of another association.
"It is significant to note that John was the unanimous choice of AMTDA's Search Committee, based on an intensive four-month recruitment process." Addy says. "John's association and industry experience, coupled with his proven track record will allow him to hit the ground running. I look forward to working with him to finalize AMTDA's 2006-2010 Strategic Plan and improving the value of AMTDA membership for all our members. I know he's going to deliver the results that we both want and need for our industry and will help AMTDA successfully take on the challenges of the future."
Kent Lorenz, CMTSE, chairman of AMTDA's Search Committee and President of Ellison Machinery of Wisconsin, Pewaukee, WI, noted, "I am extremely pleased that John has accepted this leadership position at AMTDA. John brings a solid understanding of the association business and is a leader well versed in industry trends and drivers. We are confident in his ability to help guide our industry as we take on the challenges we currently face."
In addition to Lorenz, Addy said that AMTDA's Search Committee included AMTDA Chair-Elect Lynne Anderson, President, Able Machine Tool Sales, Agawam, MA; AMTDA former Chair John F. Hackenberg, CMTSE, President, J & H Machine Tools, Inc., Charlotte, NC; AMTDA Secretary David C. Smith, CMTSE, Vice President, C. J. Smith Machinery Co., Fenton, MO; and Debbie Vieder, AMTDA's Director of Education and Communication.
Healy is currently CEO of the 360Solutions Group in Washington, D.C., a logistics and supply chain firm serving Fortune 1000 corporate clients and their associations as they address the increasing complexities of their global supply chains.
Healy's wealth of association experience includes service as President and CEO of the National Pallet & Container Association in Arlington, VA, an international association of businesses focused on the manufacturing, distribution and recycling of pallets and containers used throughout the global supply chain. Previously, he was also Executive Vice President and CEO of the Grain Elevator & Processing Society in Minneapolis, MN.
Healy's global experience also included service as Vice President of Business Development for IFCO Systems N.V., Munich Germany, a market leading, global logistics, distribution and supply chain solutions provider. He led the global business development initiatives and the North American government affairs strategy.

Since 1925 the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association has been a major voice within the machine tool industry. The AMTDA represents independent distributors and worldwide builders of machine tools and related products used in the metalworking industry. The Association's mission is to provide marketers of manufacturing technology the essential services necessary to develop and perpetuate distribution businesses that make vital contributions to North American manufacturing.
