American Packaging Corporation Receives Best Industry Recycling Program Award
ROCHESTER, NY - American Packaging Corporation Flexographic Printing & Laminating facility in Story City, Iowa was one of ten Iowa organizations and businesses to receive an Excellence in Recycling award from the Iowa Recycling Association . The awards program recognizes premier facilities with programs, projects, and individuals exhibiting cutting-edge waste management and recycling practices.
"We are very excited to have had so many wonderful projects submitted this year for the Iowa Awards for Excellence in Recycling. The winners this year continue to raise the bar for excellence in recycling" said Yvette Clapp, President of the Iowa Recycling Association.
"American Packaging is honored to accept this premier environmental award on behalf of all its employees. As a team we embraced sustainability and it is one of our core values. In less than a year, this facility recycled 2,899,859 lbs. of waste, which equates to reducing 6,264 tons of CO2. We should all be proud of our efforts in preserving Iowa's natural resources" said Ray Graham, Operations Manager for the facility.
"I am pleased our Story City Iowa facility was one of the ten recipients of the Iowa Recycling Awards. Last fall, this facility also received an Environmental Excellence Award from the Governor of Iowa. We have taken great strides to establish environmental improvement programs at all of our facilities and it is a privilege to be recognized for our accomplishments" said Peter Schottland, American Packaging Corporation CEO and President.
