ALTe Technologies Launches Rebirth at EDTA

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – ALTe Technologies (ALTe) used the recent Electric Drive Transportation Association (EDTA) Conference and Annual Meeting (www.edta2014.com) as the ideal platform to launch their '2014 rebirth.'  Demonstrating their presence in force, ALTe was represented by several of their technical and marketing leaders, exhibiting inside the EDTA tradeshow hall as well as participating in the EDTA Ride, Drive, & Charge experience. Throughout the event, ALTe attracted ample attention and received multiple inquiries from potential customers, suppliers, government relations, and media participants.

ALTe's new motto 'Customer Driven -- Purpose Built,' has resulted in an expanded offering to address varied commercial customer preferences: ALTe now offers plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV, series, or parallel) as well as pure battery electric vehicles (BEV). Through careful customer needs assessments, specific customer drive cycles are translated into simulations of vehicle performance to define the right system architecture and proper sizing of major components such as the high voltage battery, drive motor power & torque, as well as genset power & torque. Throughout this process, ALTe makes smart decisions to maximize synergies and reduce cost, resulting in a discreet number of hybrid powertrain 'classes' to service the wide spectrum of commercial fleet customer needs.

The leadership talents of newly appointed President & CEO Darren Post (GM line director for programs such as Chevy Impala, Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky) and Board Vice Chairman Tony Posawatz (GM line director of the Chevy Volt and former CEO of Fisker) have contributed to a more focused company direction for ALTe Technologies:

--  Efforts in the US are focused around shuttle busses and delivery

vehicles (class 3-6 trucks) as well as utility vehicles (class 2-4

         trucks).

--  The focus for China centers around small niche vehicles through their

Joint Venture with Henan Benma, as well as a well-engineered push into

         the 8-12m commuter bus market.

--  Lastly, ALTe has identified significant opportunities to electrify large

quantities of 10+m busses in the Korean fleet markets.

During the EDTA 'Heavy Hitters' panel session on medium and heavy duty hybrid electric trends for fleet customers, CEO Darren Post presented an overview of ALTe's focus on delivery truck, bus, utility-telecom, and service fleets and emphasized that, "ALTe Technologies is delivering customer value by tailoring its powertrain systems to meet customer needs with fuel savings that pay back the initial hybrid electric investment in a realistic time frame."

ALTe also participated in the Ride, Drive & Charge event at EDTA, showcasing a newly upgraded E350 delivery vehicle, touting close to 100% better fuel economy with reduced emissions, as well as a 22 mile all-electric range and a 500+ mile total range, virtually eliminating 'range anxiety.' Seventy (70) interested participants from a varied list of city & state governments, public utility and fleet companies, as well as several media reporters made use of the opportunity to drive ALTe's E350 PHEV around city traffic. Senior Test Technician Kyle Maki accompanied guests to elaborate on ALTe's technology and to answer questions. Participants were delighted after their driving experience, offering statements such as, "This will change the delivery truck market" and "very powerful for a delivery van."  One driver even noted, "The drive is as smooth as my Lexus Hybrid!"

Propelled by its new leadership team and motto 'Customer Driven -- Purpose Built,' ALTe has new wind in its sails and is poised for success in the US and worldwide.
