Alpha Source, Inc. Congratulates AAMI Foundation Scholarship Winners
Alpha Source, Inc., a Wisconsin-based, multi-vendor medical repair parts distributor, congratulates, Leslie Carroll and Edward Ryan, the two winners of the AAMI Foundation Scholarship. Since its inception, Alpha Source has donated over $5,000 to the AAMI Foundation Scholarship, which supports students who are entering the biomedical technician and clinical engineer profession.
Milwaukee, Wisc. – Alpha Source, Inc., a global medical equipment parts distributor, congratulates the recipients of the 2013 AAMI Foundation Scholarship, Leslie Carroll and Edward Ryan. Alpha Source has donated over $5,000 to the Foundation since its inception in 2009. The AAMI Foundation Fund supports students who are entering the biomedical technician and clinical engineering profession.
Each year, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Foundation awards two, $2,500 scholarships to students aspiring to be in the healthcare technology field. This year’s recipients, Leslie Carroll and Edward Ryan, demonstrated academic excellence and commitment to entering the biomedical technician and clinical engineering professions. Leslie Carroll is a mother of four and is currently enrolled at Texas State Technical College. Edward Ryan is an intern at Hartford Hospital while attending the University of Connecticut.
According to Norine Carlson-Weber, president of Alpha Source, "We are proud to be able to support aspiring biomedical technicians and clinical engineers through the AAMI Foundation. As the healthcare technology field continues to change, we need to continue to support education. Congratulations to Leslie and Edward."
This year, Alpha Source donated $2,500 to the Foundation’s Scholarship Fund. Alpha Source regularly supports various foundations and medical mission organizations including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Foundation, Samaritan’s Purse, International Child Heart Foundation, and others.
The AAMI Foundation has raised more than $350,000 to date and is on its way to reaching its $500,000 goal. Since 2009, the AAMI Foundation has awarded eight scholarships to aspiring students.
