Allegro Microsystems, Inc. Implements Environmental Management System in Accordance with Iso 14001

Worcester, MA, February 28, 2006 - The certification body of TUV America, Inc. Management Service Division, a globally recognized testing and certification organization has certified that Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. effectively implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001. ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized standard that provides a specification for a complete and effective Environmental Management System. The scope of Allegro's system includes: the design, wafer fabrication, manufacture and testing of semiconductor integrated circuits and sensors.

ISO 14001 is considered to be the corner stone standard of the ISO 14000 series that specifies a framework of control for an EMS against which an organization can be certified by a third party. A complete system must have detailed policies in place, a sound organizational structure, procedures, goals and objectives and defined processes. Upon certification, TUV America acknowledged that Allegro meets all aspects of the EMS elements required by ISO 14001 with 100% conformity to the specified standard.

Allegro is very proud of this accomplishment," said Linda Johnson, Allegro's Director of Automotive Quality. "Our commitment to protecting the environment is evident through the programs that we currently have in place. We will continue to research new methods and processes to further reduce byproducts and emissions at Allegro."

Allegro remains dedicated to protecting the environment and adhering to local, state, national and international standards and regulations regarding manufacturing and business procedures, and product composition.
