ASTM International Daniel H. Green Award Given to Aleksei Gershun



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., 9 January 2009-ASTM International Committee D15 on Engine Coolants has presented the Daniel H. Green Award to Aleksei Gershun, technical fellow at Honeywell International Consumer Products Group in Danbury, Conn. Gershun was honored for his many years of outstanding service and active participation in the work of the committee.

A member of ASTM International and Committee D15 since 1996, Gershun is vice chair of Subcommittee D15.06 Glassware Performance Tests. The committee recognized his work once before with the Raymond H. Rudisill Award in 2006.

Gershun, who received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technologies, has more than 20 years of experience in the research, manufacturing and distribution of coolants, lubricants and lubricant additives for automotive and heavy-duty vehicular applications. Before assuming his position at Honeywell in 1989, Gershun held research and teaching positions at the Ukrainian State University of Chemical Technologies, the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas A&M University.

Outside of ASTM International, Gershun is a member of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Automotive Engineers and ASM International. He holds dozens of patents, has published several technical papers in his field and is Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
