American Lighting Association Announces New Officers and Directors



DALLAS - During its recent Annual Conference in Las Vegas, the American Lighting Association (ALA) announced its 2007 Board of Governors and officers. Officers are as follows: Fred C. Fennell, CLMR, chair; M. Thomas Early, chair elect; Irene L. Wang, treasurer; and Linda M. Pavletich, LS, secretary.

Fennell, owner of Fennell Marketing & Sales, has been a member of ALA for 10 years. An active participant, he has served ALA in numerous committee capacities over the years including the Manufacturer's Representative Steering Committee, the Education Foundation Board and the Board of Governors. Fennell became a member of the Executive Committee in 2005, and in 2006 he successfully led the July Annual Membership Campaign, surpassing the growth goal of 14 percent.

Early, president of Burgess Lighting, is a past recipient of ALA's Pillar of the Year Award. A member since 1993, Early is an active participant in ALA's Government Affairs Committee, and traveled to Washington, D.C. for many years, lobbying for small business issues in the lighting industry. Early was also the founder, member and leader of the association's showroom networking groups.

Wang, president of Designers Fountain, Inc., has served on the ALA Board of Governors since 2002. Her ALA involvement includes positions on the Manufacturers' Steering, Officers Nominating and Finance committees. Before joining Designers Fountain in 1986, Wang was the Vice Consul/Consul, Consulate-General, Los Angeles for the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Pavletich, president of Premier Lighting, is a strong advocate of ALA's continuing education as well as the Political Action Committee. Pavletich served on the 2001 Annual Conference committee and received the Showroom 2002 Pillar of the Industry Award at the ALA Annual Conference. She also played a major role in establishing ALA's Networking Groups.

New to the ALA Board for 2007 are John E. Deininger, president, Deininger Lighting Group; Carolyn Overman, president, Western Montana Lighting; and Jan E. Zanger, president, Zanger Associates.

Also on the 12-member board for 2007 are returning directors Lars Bostrom, president, Bostrom Lighting Sales; Paul W. Eusterbrock, president, Holtkoetter International; Scott H. Muse, group vice president, Hubbell Lighting; and Richard D. Upton, CCE, president/CEO. Michael H. Ber, CLC, president Lighting Inc., is the immediate past chair.

The American Lighting Association is a trade association representing the lighting industry, serving members and their customers, and working to protect and advance the industry while promoting the sale and application of quality lighting products.
