Air Products' Mobile Hydrogen Fueler Powering California Road Rally Participants

Relocatable Fueling Technology to Keep the Wheels Going Round and Round

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (October 4, 2006) - Air Products' (NYSE: APD) mobile hydrogen fueling technology will be on the road fueling vehicles in parts of Southern California from Oct. 4-8 as part of the California Fuel Cell Partnership's (CaFCP) Road Rally 2006. The Road Rally is a five-day event that takes fuel cell vehicle technology on the road for vehicle displays, consumer "ride and drives" and provides the public an opportunity to learn more about hydrogen as an alternative fuel. It will also showcase the capabilities of Air Products' mobile hydrogen fueling technology, which will keep the fuel cell vehicles' wheels turning as the Road Rally moves from city to city.

The Air Products mobile hydrogen fueler comes complete with fueling storage and dispensing, and can be transported from location to location to provide hydrogen fueling for promotional demonstrations or remote endurance testing. The fueler can be remotely monitored and is designed to ensure daily, around-the-clock hydrogen vehicle fueling availability. There are currently 15 Air Products mobile hydrogen fuelers operating in the United States and worldwide today.

"Our fueling technology being used for the Road Rally really demonstrates the flexibility and capability of the mobile hydrogen fueler. The unit needs no utility hook-up and can be relocated for events like this or for a dedicated customer testing program at a fixed location. We look at the system as a bridge in the development of a hydrogen fueling infrastructure. The mobile fueler offers reliable, cost-effective and automated fueling capability on demand for the customer," said Steve Hoffman, regional project engineer, Future Energy Solutions at Air Products.

This year's Road Rally will travel through Southern California stopping in Anaheim, Torrance and San Diego. CaFCP will bring fuel cell vehicles to the Orange County Auto Show at the Anaheim Convention Center on Oct. 5 for public "ride and drive" opportunities. In Torrance on Oct. 6, CaFCP will present the second annual Fuel Cell Vehicle Workshop for emergency responders sponsored by the Los Angeles Area Fire Marshals Association and the California State Firefighters Association. Road Rally 2006 will end at the SRT Coronado Speed Festival on Coronado Island just off San Diego on Oct. 7-8 with vehicle and educational displays, and public "ride and drives." Air Products will be providing a speaker for the Fuel Cell Vehicle Workshop in Torrance, and an interactive hydrogen dispenser mock-up at the Speed Festival.
