Air Products' Hydrogen Fueling Technology in Use at BP Station in Beijing Filling Buses in Preparation for 2008 Olympics
LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (November 8, 2006) - Air Products' (NYSE: APD) hydrogen fueling technology has begun filling mass transit fuel cell buses at a BP station in Beijing, China in preparation for fueling buses to shuttle athletes and visitors during the 2008 Olympics. The hydrogen fueling technology at BP's station, the first demonstration project for new energy vehicles in China, was officially dedicated today by SinoHytec, BP, and other assembled dignitaries directing the project at the Zhongguancun Yongfeng High-Tech Industrial Base in the Beijing Hydrogen Park. BP presented Air Products a Project Safety Award at the dedication ceremony for the safe and successful commissioning of the project. Air Products' leading hydrogen fueling station technology has been put in place at over 50 fueling stations worldwide.
Air Products' Series 300 fueling technology is an integrated vehicle fueling system that compresses and dispenses hydrogen to the vehicles. This fueling technology is designed to meet early vehicle fleet fueling requirements by providing the customer flexibility of using hydrogen generated on-site, or a distributed hydrogen supply. The station will supply several fuel cell buses that will travel normal mass transit routes in preparation for eventual shuttle use during the 2008 Olympics.

Air Products has been involved with other highly visible BP hydrogen fueling stations on a global scale. Last month, Air Products technology was part of a BP hydrogen fueling station dedicated at the NextEnergy Center in Detroit, Michigan. In 2004, Air Products also supplied the hydrogen fueling technology for BP for the first ever hydrogen fueling station to be located at a retail gasoline site in Singapore. The establishment of this station, for which Air Products was also presented a Project Safety Award from BP, made BP the first energy company in the world to provide the environmentally friendly fuel at an existing retail site, alongside conventional fuels.
