Air Filters Meet European Union RoHS Compliance

The countdown continues to July 2006 when the European Union (EU) Directive 2002/95/EC, Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) becomes law. Many people mistakenly think this restriction of hazardous substances from all new electrical or electronic equipment only affects European Union countries. In fact, at least 23 states in the U.S. are considering legislation of this type. California may have a law in place by 2007. Canada, China, Japan and Taiwan are also expected to have RoHS regulations.

All products made by Universal Air Filter, including metal components treated with special finishes for corrosion protection, meet the new European RoHS standards.

The ban includes lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs. To download a copy of a RoHS Compliance document confirming that all UAF parts are RoHS compliant, log on to www.uaf.com/RoHS.

A free, round-the-clock prototype service is available to design engineers worldwide at www.uaf.com. The Internet-submitted prototype request form, or a quick phone call, fax or e-mail, is generally all it takes to get the necessary information so the custom prototype can be produced and shipped within five working days.

Universal Air Filter products meet the following standards and classifications: UL 94 HF-1; UL 900 Class 2, CE; Telcordia NEBS GR-63-CORE and GR-78-CORE.
