AIM Pays Tribute to AIDC Industry Leaders



2015 AIM Industry Award Winners Recognized for Significant Contributions



Cranberry Township, PA – AIM, the industry association and worldwide authority on barcode, RFID, RTLS, NFC and mobile computing, just announced the recipients of the 2015 AIM Industry Awards during a special ceremony in San Diego, California. This year’s announcement came during AIM Summit 2015, which brought together AIDC leaders from around the world.



The Richard Dilling Award is considered to be the highest award given in the AIDC industry in recognition of lifetime achievements that have furthered industry growth through significant applications and new technological developments. The 2015 recipient, Matt Schler, General Manager – Retail Fixed Scanning at Datalogic, has more than 30 years in the AIDC industry, with significant experience in product development and business management. His knowledge and finger on the pulse of AIDC industry trends, standards and advocacy have been of great benefit to both AIM and the industry as a whole. Mr. Schler has been actively involved in the Technical Symbologies Committee (TSC) at AIM and currently serves on the AIM, Inc. Board of Directors.



Dick Meyers, Chairman Emeritus of AIDC 100, was named the recipient of the Allan Gilligan Award, co-sponsored by AIM and the Material Handling Institute (MHI), which recognizes outstanding contributions to the development of AIDC applications in materials handling and logistics in the supply chain. Mr. Meyers is an internationally renowned industry expert who founded Delta Services in 1988. He spent more than 42 years working in automatic identification technologies until his retirement in 2010. An author, speaker and industry advocate, Mr. Meyers has maintained an active presence with organizations like AIM, MHI and AIDC 100 throughout his retirement.



John Burnell, Founder of Burnell Reports, was awarded the Bert Moore Excellence in Journalism Award. This award recognizes a member of the media whose work exemplifies the qualities of honest, educational and unbiased reporting in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry, where Mr. Burnell is a respected author and expert. Prior to establishing Burnell Reports in 2002, he was an award-winning journalist and editor for several publications, including Frontline Solutions and Automatic ID News. Through the years, Mr. Burnell has become one of the leading resources of AIDC trends and is a frequent editorial contributor to AIM publications and industry white papers.
