Agilent Technologies Receives Best Paper Award at Autotestcon 2010

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 6, 2010 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that two of its employees, Bill Lycette and Duane Lowenstein, have been recognized for their insightful examination of total cost of ownership (TCO) in regard to test equipment.

Lycette, a quality manager, and Lowenstein, a test process analysis manager, received the David M. Goodman Best Paper Award for Management Topics at the Autotestcon conference, during the week of Sept. 13, 2010.

The award is named for the late Dr. Goodman, in honor of his initiative and inspiration in establishing Autotestcon. Selection is based on five categories: management theory, concepts, techniques, implementation and applications.

In their winning paper, "The Real Total Cost of Ownership of Your Test Equipment," Lycette and Lowenstein show the importance of reducing operating costs, not just equipment acquisition costs. The paper is available at www.agilent.com/find/TCO_paper.com.
