AGC Chemicals Announces Fine Chemical Plant Expansion at 2015 Informex Show

AGC increases production of agrochemical and pharmaceutical intermediates to meet growing demand

EXTON, Pa. – AGC Chemicals Americas Inc. will announce the expansion of its fine chemicals plant in Kaminaka Mikata, Fukui, Japan, at the 2015 InformEx show, Booth 647, February 3 ‒ 5 in New Orleans. When the expansion is complete, AGC will have greater production capacity to meet growing demand for its intermediates and ingredients for pharmaceuticals and agrochemical compounds.

During Phase 1, which was completed in December 2012, AGC built a multipurpose plant that could manufacture 3000 metric tons of intermediates and ingredients per year. This year’s expansion will increase production to 5,000 metric tons per year.

“The substantial expansion of our innovative agrochemicals/pharmaceuticals plant, which utilizes specialized resources and equipment, will increase our capacity to support customers around the world,” said Jie Zhang, Ph.D., business manager of fine and specialty chemicals at AGC Chemicals Americas.

Zhang will also give a presentation at InformEx on February 3 at 10:40 a.m. on fluorine chemistry for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and co-catalyst industries.

AGC develops and supplies fluorinated compounds, advanced intermediates and bulk pharmaceuticals for pharmaceuticals and agrochemical compounds.
