Aerzen USA Helps "Food for All" Program
Company builds and cultivates vegetables for local food bank
Aerzen USA along with the Triskeles Foundation constructed five (5) 4x12 raised beds at the Aerzen USA facility. Aerzen employees assisted in this event along with some of their children. The planting of the first spring vegetables will consist of spinach, peas and lettuce.
Food For All is a community based program that Triskeles developed at the request of the Chester County Food Bank to create raised garden beds at schools, low income housing, faith communities, and businesses that agree to give at least 50% of the food raised to those in need of it, primarily via the Food Bank system. Aerzen has thirteen volunteers to help with the cause.
Triskeles provides the materials (lumber, soil, and compost, labor (paid youth and staff), seeds and the training for the organization’s volunteers; construct the beds, and install the gardens. The Triskeles staff trains and monitors the volunteer groups throughout the first two growing seasons to ensure a planned/coordinated flow of produce.
Triskeles, founded in 2002 non-profit programs focus on the following topics: healthy eating and nutrition, organic gardening, leadership, community service, entrepreneurship, youth philanthropy, eco-literacy and mentoring young children. In our four main programs, youth work together beside adults who are committed to creating a world where the triple bottom line values of prosperity, people and planet are the measure of success.
