Advance University Accredited by AEE

January 27th, 2006 - Rosemont, Illinois) Advance announces that its industry-renowned Advance University interactive ballast training website has been officially approved by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) for their Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP) program.

Every three years, a CLEP is required to accumulate 8 professional credits to maintain certification. In the case of Advance University, AEE will award 2 professional credits for successful achievement of Course Level 1 and one credit each for Course Levels 2 and 3, enabling a CLEP to amass a total of 4 professional credits for the successful completion of all three levels of Advance University. According to AEE Executive Director Al Thumann, "AEE's Certified Lighting Efficiency Program continues to grow in importance every day and we're delighted to be able to partner with Advance and provide quality training programs such as Advance University to help lighting professionals meet the requirements for re-certification." Advance University is an on-line ballast training program currently offered in three course levels. The first level ("Ballast Basics 101") covers ballast basics. The second level ("Ballast Basics 201") covers more basics and also features ballast troubleshooting techniques as well as an introduction to many newer lighting technologies. Level 3 provides an overview of the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) lighting standard and its use in creating new and powerful lighting designs. Each level consists of 10 or more lessons and is followed by a short quiz. Students who successfully complete each level can print out a personalized Certificate of Completion. Providing premium ballast-related training in a convenient, on-line format, Advance University provides essential training for individuals new to the lighting industry as well as those who seek a comprehensive review of their ballast knowledge. Advance University is accessible from Advance's web site at www.advancetransformer.com/university and is open for enrollment to anyone at no charge.
