Aculight Corporation Appoints Thomas Hartwick to Board of Directors

Bothell, Wash., January 4, 2006 - Aculight Corporation, a leading developer of
innovative laser technologies, today announced Dr. Thomas S. Hartwick has joined
its board of directors.

Rich, Aculight president and CEO. "Tom brings decades of experience in military
product development and has a strong general management background. This enables
him to look at our entire company and validate or provide constructive feedback.
He also brings a lifetime of connections in industry and government that will
open a lot of doors for us. I am confident he'll play an important role in Aculight's
future growth."
Tom Hartwick has spent nearly 50 years in high-technology business management
and R&D. His technology expertise includes lasers, electro-optics, electronic/microwave
devices and satellite systems. He has served as a consultant for the Air Force
Research Laboratory (AFRL), New Focus, Inc., Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc., The
Boeing Company, and TRW, Inc., and on several corporate boards. He has held senior
management positions within TRW, Hughes Aircraft Company and The Aerospace Corporation.
Hartwick has served on many government advisory boards, including the National
Research Council's Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design, the Department
of Defense's Advisory Group on Electron Devices and the Defense Science Board's
Task Force on High Performance Microchip Supply. He has testified in several
congressional hearings and authored numerous publications and reports. He is
a national associate of the National Academy of Sciences and Engineering and
holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
