Absolute Haitian Provides Press, Servo Robot for ACS Tech Center

Minneapolis, Minnesota – Absolute Haitian, the exclusive distributor of Haitian and Zhafir injection molding machines in the U.S. and Canada, and ACS Group, a manufacturer of comprehensive auxiliary equipment for the plastics industry under the AEC, Cumberland, and Sterling brands, are partnering to install an operating molding line for a new Technology Center in New Berlin, Wisconsin. The line features a consigned machine cell from Absolute Haitian consisting of a Zhafir Venus II all-electric molding machine paired with a Well Lih MaxAW05 3-axis servo robot with a payload capacity of 6kg and a telescoping vertical stroke from Absolute Robot.

The operating line is a key component in the expansion of ACS Group facilities in New Berlin. The new technical center is approximately two blocks away from its main manufacturing and warehouse facility. The 12,000-sq-ft tech center will help customers and prospects view production equipment in action, test mold and product applications, and attend training classes with hands-on training. The injection molding operating line will be fed by AEC drying, blending and conveying equipment, complete with chillers and temperature control units from Sterling.  Excess molded product and scrap will be processed through a Cumberland granulator, and the material will be conveyed into a regrind hopper for future blending and processing.

“We are teaming with ACS to help molders in Wisconsin and surrounding states view the advanced manufacturing technologies available to improve their production efficiency,” said Nate Smith, one of the owners of Absolute Haitian. “We have already found synergies in our approach to supporting plastics processors and our engineering groups are finding new ways to work in concert with each other, as we have with other OEM auxiliary suppliers in the past.”

“We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase a modern molding machine from Absolute Haitian and appreciate their support in making our Technology Center one of the best in the industry,” said Paul Grekowicz, Vice President, Marketing and Product Development. “The ability to demonstrate a fully functional plastics processing line to all of our respective customers is significant and supports our future efforts to support the plastics industry for the long term.”
