Air & Waste Management Association Offers Conference on Environmental Nuisances



The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) will offer "Environmental Nuisances: Noise, Light, Odour, & Fugitive Dust" Feb. 11 -13 in Toronto, ON, Canada. The conference will examine technological developments, case studies, and resolutions to environmental nuisances.

"Environmental nuisances are among the top reasons the public demands action of its local government officials," said Adrianne Carolla, A&WMA Executive Director. "This conference will provide a forum for discussion and all groups--including authorities involved in environmental nuisances cases, the general public, academia, and the consulting community--are encouraged to participate."

The conference will include sessions on policy aspects of environmental nuisance issues; specifics on noise, odour, fugitive light, and dust; management issues; and stakeholder participation.

Sessions will include speakers from associations, organizations, and universities, including Health Canada, the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, York University, and the Desert Research Institute (located in Nevada). The conference will also include an opening plenary session from Paul Complin, Principal, Environmental Compliance, Canadian Ortech Environmental Inc., and Howard Klein, Senior Consultant, Jacques Whitford, Ltd.
