Lord Corporation Launches Global Distributor Network for Balancing Technology

(Cary, NC - Feb. 22, 2006) - LORD Corporation - a leader in the management of motion, vibration and noise - has launched a distributor network to aid in the global distribution and services of their balancing systems and other technologies.

T.E.V.A. Ltd. of the United Kingdom, IRM (Ingenieria, Reparacion, Mantenimiento) of Spain, SISTRAN of Portugal, ISE (Industrial Service Engineering) of Italy, RITEC of Egypt, VibraTek Eng Co. Ltd. of Turkey, MASIBUS Process Instruments of India, ALBEST High Tech Corp. of Taiwan and Fukuda of Japan have been selected as official members of LORD Corporation's distributor network. LORD also has added several new representatives in North America including Holan Enginering in Arkansas, Star Tech in Louisiana, Power Products in Washington, and Primac Reliability in British Columbia. The distributors and representatives will have the ability to sell, install and service LORD Corporation's proprietary balancing technology -- a permanently mounted system that continuously monitors vibration levels and corrects unbalance while a rotating piece of equipment is in operation. The balancer has proven to increase the operating efficiency and production of a plant by drastically reducing conventional "off-line" balancing and maintenance. The system is capable of making balance corrections in as little as 30 to 120 seconds, as opposed to hours or even days associated with traditional balancing methods.

According to Andrew Winzenz, Balancing Product Manager, LORD has traditionally sold its balancing systems only in North America. However, interest from around the globe in the proven technology prompted the company to expand their global reach in order to serve new markets.

"As economies continue to grow and demand for materials such as cement and steel increases throughout Europe and in developing countries such as India and China," said Winzenz, "we have recognized the need to have local representation in these markets to better serve our customers. The use of distributors in these key territories gives us local support and expertise not only for the balancing products, but also for the industries and markets we wish to serve."

Tony Eva, Managing Director of T.E.V.A., the distributor located in Cumbria, United Kingdom, said they are extremely pleased to be selected as the distributor for LORD Corporation's balancing systems for the UK and Ireland.

"The support already received has made a beneficial impact on our bottom-line," said Eva. "And, the future looks promising with the release of the Balance Check and the continued interest in LORD Corporation's balancing system, which has already proven to have a direct impact on plant availability."

LORD selected companies with a proven track-record in providing products and/or services to the markets appropriate for their balancing technology, especially those experienced in industrial processing markets such as pulp/paper, cement and steel plants. According to Winzenz, all distributor candidates must be recognized as experts in their field and involved in Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), which includes services such as vibration monitoring and analysis, field balancing, oil analysis, infrared thermography and alignment. Further, all members of LORD Corporation's distributor network must have experience in identifying and solving vibration and balancing problems as well as provide installation and repair services.

In addition to the current network of distributors, LORD is seeking additional distribution channels in North America, China, Australia, and Eastern Europe. For a complete listing of distributors for LORD Balancing Systems, visit www.lord.com and click on "Find a Distributor."
