Agile Software Named a Visionary Leader in 2005 Magic Quadrant for Product Life Cycle Management

Top Analyst Firm Positions Agile Software as a Leading Vendor Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute; Scores Highest Rankings in High-Tech and Life Sciences Sectors
San Jose, CA - November 15, 2005 - Agile Software Corporation (Nasdaq: AGIL), a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today announced that it has been listed by Gartner, Inc. as a visionary leader in the PLM market. Gartner's "3Q05 Magic Quadrant* for Product Life Cycle Management" report evaluated Agile based on Agile's ability to extend its PLM vision through its development of best-in-class solutions and strategic acquisitions.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant profiles companies that will have the greatest impact on the PLM market, and positions each vendor based on Gartner's view of how evaluated companies will serve users and perform during a two year period. Agile's unique leadership position reflects Agile's customer success across multiple industries and proven fast time-to-value. Agile was also recognized for its acquisitions of Eigner and Cimmetry Systems, which have provided Agile customers with expanded CAD integration, workflow, and configuration management and visualization capabilities. In addition, Gartner pointed to the release of Agile 9, the next generation PLM solution for managing the enterprise record, as an example of the company's leading vision for an enterprise-wide PLM infrastructure that engages the entire value chain. Gartner also recognized Agile as the first PLM vendor to aggressively promote product analytics and portfolio management.

Agile earned high marks for its ability to deliver value to discrete manufacturing industries. Agile also earned the highest ratings of any PLM vendor in the high-tech and life sciences industries, and was noted as a top vendor in the automotive and consumer packaged goods industries.

"We are pleased to be recognized as the most prominent vendor in the high-tech and life sciences industries and among the top providers in the automotive and consumer packaged good industries," said Bryan Stolle, Agile CEO. "Being positioned as a leading PLM vendor by Gartner is strong validation of Agile's vision, direction and success in providing the most robust and comprehensive solutions to our customers."

To be included in the report, vendors must support an environment that unites critical functionality to define and develop a product and enable it to evolve throughout its life, as well as support for the governance and processes that make defining, designing, refining, and enabling the evolution of a product possible. According to the report, "visionaries" understand current market requirements and future market dynamics. They have articulated a comprehensive strategy to provide value to their customers and capitalize on opportunities arising from their superior market understanding. No vendors were positioned in the "leaders" quadrant.
