$940,000 Lockheed Martin Contracts Go To Atlantic Fasteners
Lockheed Martin has awarded Atlantic Fasteners two-year contracts totaling $940,000.
The aerospace division of Atlantic Fasteners, a worldwide ISO 9001:2000 certified fastener supplier headquartered in West Springfield, MA, won the contract bids this month.
"These two contracts are the largest to date in our division's history," said Marc Dionne, director of the aerospace division. He noted the contracts' combined value is nearly five times higher than the division's previous two-year contract with Lockheed Martin.
An authorized Lockheed Martin supplier since 2000, Atlantic's aerospace division has earned exceptional quality and delivery ratings in the high 90s and often 100 percent from Lockheed Martin, he said. "We pay close attention to all the details that go into excellent service, from on-time delivery to proper paperwork."
Mr. Dionne said recent steps to increase the aerospace division's national visibility by investing in technology have paid off, pointing to the recent introduction of online pricing as one example. Atlantic Fasteners uses a bar code inventory management system and offers online ordering, RFID and electronic invoicing. "As a company, we are very technologically advanced," he said.
The aerospace team negotiated the new contracts earlier this year with Lockheed Martin. Through December 2010, Atlantic Fasteners will supply hundreds of fastener varieties to Lockheed Martin's business units around the country. Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, Lockheed Martin has 1,000 facilities in 46 states and in 75 international locations.
