One piece universal joints can accommodate angular misalignments up to 90 deg. They also compensate for axial and parallel misalignment, while keeping velocity constant. Because of 1-piece, flexure construction, U-joints are able to maintain constant radial load at all points of rotation. They do not require lubrication.
