Wide-Band Clamp-On Probes accurately measure AC current.June 29, 2012 -
With ½ in. and 1 in. apertures, Models 8585C and 8590C feature 3 dB bandwidth from approximately 1 kHz to 200 MHz. Hinged current monitors incorporate wide band frequency response in demountable configuration for use on fixed conductors. Providing 5 Arms current rating and 1.0 V/A sensitivity, both models can measure rise times as fast as 2 ns with peak currents up to 500 A.

New Wide-Band Clamp-On Current Probes for Accurate AC Current Measurements
Pearson Electronics is pleased to introduce two new Wide-Band Hinged Clamp-on Current Monitors with excellent high frequency response. The models 8585C and 8590C feature a wide 3 dB bandwidth from approximately 1 kHz to 200 MHz. The Current Probes have a ½ inch and 1 inch aperture, and are hinged for easy operation. The new design incorporates Pearson's wide band frequency response in a demountable configuration for use on fixed conductors. Both models have a 1.0 V/A sensitivity, can measure rise times as fast as 2 nanoseconds, peak currents up to 500 Amperes and a 5 Ampere rms current rating.
Pearson Current Monitors can measure transients, harmonics, pulse, sine-wave, EMI and other complex current wave shapes. Accuracy of 1%, or less, is obtainable across the mid-band. The new hinged clamp-ons are featured in our Clamp-on Current Monitor section, http://www.pearsonelectronics.com/products/clamp-on-current-monitors, along with existing custom and stock designs.
