New Consumable Kit Offers More Convenience to Powermax Owners


CHICAGO-Nov. 12, 2007-Hypertherm, the world leader in metal cutting technology, today announced the availability of a new consumable kit that will make it easier for people who own a Powermax1000®, 1250, or 1650 to realize the full cutting potential of their plasma system.

Hypertherm is unveiling the new kit today at the FABTECH International and AWS Welding Show in Chicago. The FABTECH show is North America's largest metal forming and welding trade show attracting more than 25,000 people every year. Consumables for all four types of cutting possible with a Powermax are included in the new kit. Those four types of consumables are:
Shielded consumables for everyday drag cutting that involves following a line or template
Unshielded consumables for cutting in tight places or better arc visibility
Gouging consumables for tough metal removal jobs
FineCut consumables for more precise cuts on thinner plate

A reference guide that explains how to get the best cut quality and consumable life when cutting with a handheld torch is also included with every kit.

"The availability of this kit will help our customers get the most out of their Powermax systems since they now have access to four different consumable sets in one convenient kit," said Erik Brine, marketing manager for Hypertherm's Torch and Consumables team. The kit, available from authorized Hypertherm distributors, comes with a suggested retail price of between $200 and $275, depending on the type of Powermax system.
