Connectors meet requirements of USB 2.0 standard.

March 5, 2007 - Providing USB Micro-B interface, ZX Series delivers 10,000 mating/unmating cycles with contact resistance of 30 mW and extraction force of 8 N. Plugs and receptacles have several configurations and mounting styles including top and bottom mount, reverse and mid-mount, and vertical mount. Typical applications include ultra-thin phones, data recorders, readers, cameras, PAs, headsets, and hand-held GPS units.

Micro-USB Standard (USB2.0) Compliant Connectors


Hirose Electric Co. Limited has completed the development of ZX Series connectors, the next generation USB Micro-B interface, as announced by the USB Implementers Forum on Jan. 4, 2007. The connectors meet all requirements of the USB 2.0 standard and are specified in the latest Supplement.

HRS Electric's established expertise in the development and manufacturing of precision high-density connectors were recognized by approval of our proposal as a standard interface. Cooperative efforts by all members of USB group were led by HRS and culminated in the development of the standard.

As compared with Mini-B interface, the previous smallest standard, Micro-B is smaller and thinner. However, it has better electrical and mechanical performance.

Durability of 10, 000 cycles (mating/un-mating), extraction force of 8N (initial and after cycling), contact resistance of 30m Ohms (initial, 10m Ohms rise max. after cycling) is only an example of the ZX connector performance levels.

ZX Series plugs and receptacles have several configurations and mounting styles (top and bottom mount, reverse and mid-mount, vertical mount) as well as several solder tab configurations, meeting variety of manufacturer's applications.

Typical (but not limited to) applications: Ultra-thin phones, data recorders, readers, cameras, PA's, headsets, hand-held GPS units and many other.
