Stellram Unveils New –46 Geometry AP Milling Inserts For 90 Degree Milling.

La Vergne, TN---Stellram’s new geometry for radius inserts
offers a high positive geometry for freer cutting.

The inserts are available in industry standard radii: 0.031”, 0.063”, 0.094”, 0.157”, 0.197” and 0.252” (0.8, 1.6, 2.4, 4, 5 and 6 mm) in grades X500 and SP6564.

Grade X500 is for extreme applications and grade SP6564 is for tough applications in steels, stainless steels and high temperature alloys.

One customer tested the new -46 geometry against a major competitor’s tooling. Results showed a 50% increase in feed rate, a 50% reduction in cycle time and a 400% increase in number of components machined.

Stellram is a globally integrated technological leader in the development of metalcutting answers for turning, milling, threading, drilling and grooving applications.
