Flow Meter/Switch is viscosity compensated.

July 11, 2002 - Model DS08 measures flow of lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, transformer oils, and other fluids with viscosities up to 600 cSt. Rated for flow rates of 30 to 90 Lpm, it works according to modified variable area principle, where float is guided in cylindrical measuring tube by spring. Externally mounted indicator, magnetically coupled to float, indicates flow rate on scale. Reed contact closes switch when float reaches it.

New Viscosity Compensated Flow Meter/Switch Designed for Oils and Other Viscous Fluids

Hudson, MA-Clark is pleased to introduce their new DS08 Flow Meter/Switch. Specifically designed to monitor and measure the flow of viscous fluids like lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, transformer oils, and other fluids with viscosities up to 600 cSt, DS08 Flow Meter/Switches feature small mounting dimensions, brass or stainless steel connections, high switching accuracy, and universal mounting position.

Rated for flow rates of 30-90 l/min, DS08 Flow Meter/Switches work according to a modified variable area principle where a float is guided in a cylindrical measuring tube by means of a spring. The flowing medium moves the float in the flow direction. An externally mounted pointer indicator magnetically coupled to the float follows the float position, indicating the flow rate on a scale. DS08 Flow Meter/Switch also incorporate a reed contact mounted outside the meter in a sealed housing. When the float reaches the position of the reed contact the switch will close. With higher flows the float moves further upward until it reached a built-in float stop keeping the switch closed and ensuring a bistable switch function at any time.
