Flexible Impact Traffic Door For Industrial, Commercial, & Retail Applications Described
The 1-13/16" thick, insulated Standard Model RubbAir Door, detailed in Bulletin # SM010101 from RubbAir Door Division, Ayer, Massachusetts, is engineered for long-term performance, able to withstand constant pounding from fork lifts and other motorized equipment. Because of its unique construction -
which features a patented, flexible rubber frame, flexible foam core, and flexible reinforcements - this rugged, double-acting traffic door easily absorbs impacts. It can twist and bend without any door damage resulting. In addition, all Standard RubbAir Doors are custom fabricated to precisely fit the user's specific door openings. These construction advantages make the Standard Rubbair Door ideal for use in food processing facilities, wash down areas, manufacturing plants, cold storage facilities, distribution centers and warehouses, and other industrial, commercial, and retail applications where material handling equipment is utilized and/or material flow is heavy.
The data sheet also details other Standard Model features that allow easy installation and that ensure the door's superior performance and low maintenance, even after years of service. These include: heavy-duty V-cam hardware that is factory aligned and pre-pinned, full-height steel shaft and mount assembly, sealed roller bearing that requires no lubrication or scheduled maintenance, dual pane polycarbonate windows, and safety cushioned nosing. Another plus is the built-in color of the special rubber facings; facings are offered in a choice of colors.
Where extra strength is desired, e.g., where openings are greater than 8 ft. wide or where traffic flow turns before clearing the door, the XHD Option is available. Features of this option are listed in the bulletin.
Also enumerated are several construction/design options, such as: extended swing cams (125°, 135°, or 180°), different window sizes and configurations, flexible transoms for openings greater than 8 ft. high, and 8-3/4" jamb guard or combination bottom bearing and jam guard.
