John Horsley, AASHTO Executive Director applauded Obama's proposal to immediately boost transportation investment and expressed great pleasure concerning Senate Environment and Public Works Committee approval of bipartisan bill to extend highway and transit programs at current levels of funding.

Mattox Jr., secretary of West Virginia (WV) DOT, outlines critical need for additional investment to preserve and maintain WV's aging transportation systems in Two-Minute State DOT Update. In this video, Mattox says that "there is an issue with crumbling infrastructure." This is substantiated via study by Wilbur Smith and Associates, which determines WV would need additional $700 million annually to preserve and modernize surface transportation systems.

Since 1991, primary energy demand associated with primary and secondary aluminum production has been reduced 17% and 58%, respectively, and cumulative greenhouse gas emissions associated with primary and secondary aluminum production have been reduced by 72% and 65%, respectively.

When IPC 7-31j task group gathers at upcoming meeting at IPC Midwest on September 21, it will seek greater participation from component suppliers who create those enclosures.

China continues to lead major industrial countries with 9.5% growth in GDP in the second quarter of 2011, down slightly from first quarter. U.S. economic growth in second quarter was an annualized 1.3% and Euro zone's growth was just 0.2%.
