October 13, 2011 Blue C, LLC's HVACR 4-Year Apprenticeship Program has been accredited under ANSI Certificate Accreditation Program (ANSI-CAP). In response, ANSI VP of accreditation services Lane Hallenbeck commended Blue C on behalf of ANSI for "demonstrating their commitment to the continual improvement of their certificate programs." He continued, "Blue C now has a concrete way to show...that its certificates represent the best in quality education and training."

October 13, 2011 In September, ANSI partnered with China Quality Certification Centre on 2 events geared toward helping companies understand certification requirements for products in China. First event, a briefing held for ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable, included presentations from CQC experts on certification programs related to government procurement and incentive programs. ANSI also welcomed experts and officials from CQC and CNCA for training seminar on updates to China Compulsory Certification regime.

October 12, 2011 At an invitational meeting hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, U.S. Departments of Commerce and Homeland Security discussed with other federal agencies and private-sector leaders in IT industry the need to create a voluntary industry code of conduct to address detection, notification, and mitigation of botnets. Botnets are collections of computers that are secretly infected with malware and then remotely controlled by spammers, hackers, or criminals.
